How do I get a free quote for hardwood refinishing?

Submit the quote form with your name, contact info, city or ZIP, approximate square footage or room count, and optional photos. We review requests and follow up with clarifying questions and next steps. The request is free.

How long does refinishing take, and can I stay home?

Most full refinishes take multiple days including dry time between coats. Staying home is sometimes workable if you can isolate rooms and handle noise/odor; full-home projects or odor-sensitive households often prefer temporary space elsewhere for peak days. See process & timeline.

Is dustless sanding really dust-free?

No. Dust-controlled and HEPA-connected systems capture much of the dust at the source, but fine dust still appears. We talk about reduction and containment—not magic zero-dust claims. Details: floor sanding.

Can engineered hardwood be sanded or refinished?

Sometimes. It depends on the thickness of the top wear layer. Many thin engineered products cannot take a full sand; some thicker ones can take a light refinish once or twice. Note “engineered” on your quote request and send edge photos if you have them. We confirm before aggressive sanding.

Screen & recoat vs full sand and refinish—which do I need?

If the finish film is intact and wear is mostly surface dullness, screen & recoat may be enough. If finish is worn through, scratches are deep, or you want a stain color change, plan on a full refinish. Unsure? Photos + quote form.

How often should hardwood floors be refinished?

There is no universal calendar. High-traffic homes with kids and pets may need attention sooner; carefully maintained floors can go longer between full sands, with optional recoats in between. Wear-through of the finish—not an arbitrary year count—is the better trigger.
